I'm from Kansas City, Missouri, and received my undergraduate degree from Tulane University at New Orleans, Louisiana, in Business Management and Asian Studies in 2001. I went on to fulfill my ROTC scholarship by serving on active duty in the U.S. Army for four years following graduation. I eventually got around to my true calling of dentistry, and attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City, School of Dentistry, graduating in 2011. The ink on my diploma had barely dried as I packed up a U-Haul and came to Lenoir, North Carolina, where I started my career at the Wilkes Public Health Dental Clinic, in North Wilkesboro, and worked there until June 2017. I currently work as an associate with NC Pediatric Dentistry, primarily at the Statesville and Lenoir offices, where I see mainly children, and 2 days a week serve Medicaid adults. I strive to support organized dentistry, and try to stay very involved with the North Carolina Dental Society. I serve as the NCDS Chair of the Committee on the New Dentist, and was the 1st District President in 2018. I'm dedicated to finding and participating in dental outreach opportunities both in the local community and across North Carolina. The ability to serve and educate populations that lack dental care is what initially piqued my interest in the dental profession. My husband Matt and I are busy these days keeping up with our two young girls, Evelyn and Anaelise. We enjoy getting out all around North Carolina, and our favorite activities include the outdoors and exploring the foothills and surrounding landscape of North Carolina!
